SCRIPT UPDATE
My co-writer George and I just got our notes back from our 2nd draft. The feedback from our producer was very favorable and now we’re working on delivering the 3rd draft – nothing major, very superficial changes that can be done in a few days. A week tops.
However, the notes from the production company’s board members’ such as: “She shouldn’t die on this page” were very puzzling — because the character being referred to doesn’t die. So either the script was skimmed through very quickly or George and I need to make that stuff clearer, I suppose. Anyway, it’s no big deal, our main contact likes it pretty much “as is” and everything seems to be right on schedule.
As you all may know, my show on FOX, “Tru Calling“, had an order of 13 episodes.
They stopped production at 6 and plan to possibly air them in 2005. If those episodes do well, there’s a chance it may keep going. John Cho’s show on NBC, “The Men’s Room“, also had an order of 13 episodes. Last Wednesday they had their production stopped at 6 to possibly air in 2005. And if those episodes do well, there’s a chance it may keep going. We both have seem to have acquired the television touch of death.
Don’t forget to check out Asia Street Comedy tonight on the International Channel: Wednesdays, 8:30 p.m. Pacific time (11:30 p.m. Eastern time), repeats on Mondays, 9 p.m. Pacific time (Midnight Eastern time)

ha i usually watch japan pop tv (music countdown) its hilarious at times
you should make a sub point next to where she dies and go “<— SHE DIES”.
Aww..don’t be so glum! You just gotta sort through a little in order to get the good stuff.
You’ll be rockin’ TV shows in no time.
grr.. they better not cancel them. john cho is so freakin funny and you’re a great actor & just awesome in general =]
Those shows better keep going!!!
Are you going to SDAFF?
good luck with all that parry… its been a while, just wanted to drop by and say hi!
i can’t believe they cancelled his other show “off centre”. that was hilarious stuff.
i went to a live tv taping of john’s The Mens Room.. that looks like it could go pretty well as far as tv longevity goes. he’s funny, the script is funny and the cast is great, i think. it should run well on NBC’s tv line up, since they have other great comedies already.
oh well. 2005′s almost here, so it’s not really that far away. they usually plan to air them in spring 05 right? so that’s just around the corner!
Good luck with your script and with Tru Calling !!! I really hope to see you and John on TV very soon ! In the meantime, I am watching LOST which is awesome and supporting Daniel Dae Kim.
Heh, I hope they didn’t get your script mixed up with something else.
Just stopping by to say hello and to let you know Asia Street Comedy is HILARIOUS! Thanks for the tip because I would have never found out myself! ALSO, AWESOME job on tru calling, very very impressive and also I had a question, when does John Cho’s show come on? Anywayz keep up with your updates and your acting…you definitely encourage us to be in the spotlight! Take care!

maybe the board members really want EVERYONE to die but just not on that page? maybe they’re trying to suggest something without suggesting it? kidding. that would be sort of funny, tho…if everyone died in a story. haven’t seen one of those yet, i don’t think. oh wait – the jim jones story/jonestown massacre. but there were some peripheral characters in the story who lived to tell the tale…hmm…
Regarding the TV shows mentiond. Maybe you guys went to light on the negative Asian Stereotypes? Seems to have worked for LAX and Law & Order: SVU!
We’re still doing post work on Tru Calling. So, uh, yeah….I saw you last night. In a manner of speaking.
Well, I hope your stuff goes a bit better, Seems I’m not going to be moving down to LA just yet. Maybe another year.

the tv touch of death is not indicative of anything. look at all the reality shows..but they are pretty scripted too.
good luck.
hope you recorded it for me. don’t think i have it.
Hey Parry,
I know you’re a REALLY busy person and all, but if you ever stop anywhere by Northern California, you should stop by UC Davis because the Asian American support at UCD is HUGE!
I didn’t know Tru Calling was your show. I hope to watch the new episodes because I like the show. It’s very twisted.
